How to reach Modena

The closest airport to Modena is Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ).
The “Aerbus” service connects the Bologna Airport with the center of Modena (a fifty-minute ride). Aerbus timetable from Bologna Airport to Modena.
The Marconi Express monorail connects Bologna Airport to the Bologna train station in seven minutes. Frequent trains for Modena depart from there.

The Modena train station is in Piazza Dante Alighieri and serves the Milan-Bologna line.

Getting to the historical center from the train station
The train station is only a few minutes walk from the historical center. Alternatively, the Number 7 bus (marked Policlinico/Gottardi) reaches the Cathedral in nine minutes (get off at the Piazza Mazzini stop) and the Number 11 bus (marked Zodiaco) arrives at the Cathedral in seven minutes (Piazza Mazzini stop).
As you leave the station, a taxi stand is located on the right side of Piazza Dante.
There are two luggage-storage offices nearby the station.

Modena is easily reached via two exits on the A1 Highway: the Modena Nord exit (five kilometers from the city center) and the Modena Sud exit (ten kilometers from the city center). The A22 Brennero Highway also ends in Modena.
